Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

The train runs from the depot in downtown Blue Ridge north into Tennessee and back. It follows the Toccoa River valley through mountain scenery that you cannot see any other way. The round trip takes a few hours. In fall, the leaf color along that corridor makes it one of the better ways to spend a morning in the mountains.

This one sounds unexpected, but the Ace Hardware in Blue Ridge carries an impressive selection of Amish furniture. Solid quality and a larger selection than you would expect from a hardware store.
