The local version of what Deal's Gap is to Tennessee riders. The Suches Loop threads through the mountain community and links some of the best curves in Union County. Riders come specifically for this loop. Come early to get clean, unobstructed road time before the day-trippers arrive.
Six Gap Route
The Six Gap crosses six mountain gaps through the North Georgia mountains. It is a well-known endurance route in the cycling world but equally loved by motorcyclists for the same reason — the road does not stop moving. The six gaps are:
- Wolfpen Gap — 9.9 miles from the cabins. The first gap on many Suches-based routes.
- Woody Gap — On GA-60, with a pullout and overlook at the top. Worth stopping.
- Neels Gap — The Appalachian Trail crosses the road here at Mountain Crossings, one of the only places the AT goes through a building. A good stop if you have not been.
- Hogpen Gap — One of the higher gaps on the route. The road gets more exposed here and the views open up.
